BenQ MA270S: Specifications

Starting with the display panel, the MA270S 5K has a 5120 × 2880 resolution; it’s an IPS panel running at 218 PPI. BenQ has equipped the monitor with 99% DCI-P3 colour coverage and a 2000:1 contrast ratio. Speaking of refresh rate, it comes with a 70Hz refresh rate, which is a bit of a step up over standard 60Hz panels, making day-to-day use feel noticeably smoother.

On the design front, BenQ has gone with a nano gloss panel finish on the front, which the company claims enhances perceived contrast and depth. The stand of the display supports 150mm of height adjustment along with tilt, swivel, and pivot.

Moving on, in terms of connectivity, the display comes with a Thunderbolt 4 port, which supports up to 96W of power delivery. BenQ claims that the one cable setup is enough to display and charge a MacBook Pro at full speed. The monitor also supports daisy chaining for dual 5K configurations. They’ve also integrated a Smart KVM switch, which adds flexibility for users on both Mac and PC systems.

BenQ has also made several upgrades to the software side to improve the integration with macOS. The monitor supports BenQ’s Display Pilot 2 software, which handles automatic colour profile syncing for better usability. Along with that, it also lets you adjust brightness and volume through your Mac’s keyboard. It also supports features like screen partitioning and auto-pivot.
