Have you ever opened Instagram in a place with poor network coverage to scroll through Reels, but nothing loads? It’s a common frustration for many users who rely on the platform for quick entertainment. However, that could soon change. A new leak suggests that Instagram might be working on a feature that lets users watch Reels even without an internet connection.

The information comes from mobile developer and well-known app tipster Alessandro Paluzzi, who shared details about the upcoming feature on X. According to the screenshots he shared, Instagram is testing a system that can automatically download Reels so they can be viewed later without needing an internet connection.

Instagram may get a new setting called ‘Manage offline downloads.’ Users would also get some control over how the downloads work. For example, there appears to be a toggle to turn on automatic downloads and an option that limits downloads to Wi-Fi only.

According to the leaked images, Instagram may let users choose how many videos they want stored offline. The options could include storing 10, 30, or 50 Reels at a time. Also, the users will likely be able to choose whether they want to see the offline Reels in the usual feed or through a separate Downloads section.
