Not every appliance needs to be on your festive shopping list, though. Some become particularly useful around Diwali and other celebrations, when homes need more cleaning, cooking and entertaining than usual. If you are planning to spend on appliances during the festive sales, these five categories are worth considering.
Getting the house ready for Diwali can mean several rounds of cleaning, particularly if you are expecting guests. A robot vacuum cleaner can take over routine floor cleaning while you focus on the more time-consuming parts of getting the house ready for the celebrations.

There is no point buying an appliance just because it is on sale. If you host family and friends often, a dishwasher or robot vacuum could be more useful, while an air fryer or microwave makes more sense if you spend a lot of time cooking. For homes dealing with poor air quality during winter, an air purifier could be the more relevant upgrade.
The festive sales are a good opportunity to make these purchases at a lower price, but the deal should come second to the appliance itself. Check the capacity, features, warranty and running costs before you place the order. A big discount is not much of a saving if the appliance ends up sitting unused.
