Here’s how to set up your WhatsApp Business account:

  • Download WhatsApp Business from the App Store or Google Play Store
  • Sign up by punching in your business phone number.
  • Click on the three dots on the top right of the screen to open up the menu
  • Click on ‘Settings’
  • Click on ‘Business Settings’
  • Click on ‘Profile’
  • Enter all relevant details including business name, phone number, address etc.

On this platform, one can set up ‘away’ messages for after office hours by following these steps:

  • Open WhatsApp Business app on your device
  • Click on the three dots on the top right of the screen to open up the menu
  • Click on ‘Settings’
  • Click on ‘Business Settings’
  • Click on ‘Messaging Options’
  • Click on ‘Away Messages’ and set up your personalised auto-reply message.
  • Click on ‘Send away messages’ to begin sending these messages

You can choose to send ‘away’ messages to certain and all contacts by following these steps:

  • Open WhatsApp Business app on your device
  • Click on the three dots on the top right of the screen to open up the menu
  • Click on ‘Settings’
  • Click on ‘Business Tools’
  • Click on ‘Away Message’
  • Click on ‘Send away messages’ to begin sending these messages
  • Tap on ‘Recipients’ to choose between ‘Everyone’, ‘Everyone not in address book’, ‘Everyone except..’, Only send to

You can also choose to schedule ‘away’ messages at a certain time by following these steps:

  • Open WhatsApp Business app on your device
  • Click on the three dots on the top right of the screen to open up the menu
  • Click on ‘Settings’
  • Click on ‘Business Tools’
  • Click on ‘Away Message’
  • Click on ‘Send away messages’ to begin sending these messages
  • Tap on ‘Schedule’ to choose between ‘Always send’, ’Custom Schedule’ and ‘Outside Business Hours’ (this option is available only if you set up business hours when setting up your profile)
