The web series State of Siege 26/11, based on Sandeep Unnithan's book Black Tornado: The Three Sieges of Mumbai 26/11, emphasized the heroism of the soldiers in uniform and told how our security forces eventually succeeded in saving countless lives despite poor equipment and a lack of finances. It's about the men with guns and power, not the victims and their anguish.

To make the show more enticing to the viewer, State Of Siege takes certain creative liberties and leaves numerous questions unsolved. It revolves around how political whims hindered the operation in the beginning. Colonel Sahota, Arjan Bajwa's NSG unit, is soon seen mobilizing to fly down to Mumbai. Major Manikrishnan (Arjun Bijlani), who appears to be suffering from anger management issues as a result of personal concerns, insists on joining the mission because he has nothing to lose.

The filmmakers don't shy away from emphasizing the mismatch between the well armed terrorists and the underprepared Mumbai Police, making us wonder if we're still prepared to deal with a similar attack, even after more than one decade has passed.

State of Siege: 26/11 Season and Episode Details

In Mumbai, the city of dreams, life goes on as usual without any hint of the impending danger. Elsewhere, Col. Sahota and his men await the much-needed up-gradation of NSG, while Parvati, a budding journalist, struggles to get her story approved by INN Channel.

What initially seemed like a gang war, soon turns out to be the deadliest terrorist attack ever in the country. The CST station, Leopold Café, Taj Hotel, Oberoi Hotel, and Chabad House are attacked simultaneously. The Mumbai Police try to fight this attack but find it difficult to beat the well-trained and highly equipped LET terrorists. Stuck in the crossfire, Parvati uses this opportunity to report the news and get noticed by her seniors.

Kasab and Ismail enter Cama hospital while the NSG team leaves for Mumbai. The fight between the Mumbai police and the terrorists continues. The Jew hostages are killed, and many others are held captive. Meanwhile, Parvati stumbles upon survivors at the Chambers Club and interviews them live on-air. This broadcast is watched by the Pakistani handlers and used to provide updates to the terrorists.

The terrorists are a step ahead of the forces. Kasab and Ismail shoot the ATS chief, but later, Ismail is killed, and Kasab is captured. Much to the respite of the hostages, the marine commandos arrive. Parvati finally gets Andreas on line. A firefight ensues between the MARCOS and the terrorists, and the NSG arrives to take charge of the situation.

On day two, the NSG team at Hotel Taj Palace start evacuating the floors one by one. The second NSG team, led by Col Das, reaches Chabad house to rescue the Israeli hostages. Meanwhile, the Police take Kasab to a safer place and start the procedure of presenting him to the magistrate. At the Oberoi hotel, the NSG manages to gain control. However, the fight continues at the Chambers, where the terrorists are in constant touch with Lakhvi.

At the Taj, Mani goes missing, and a worried Kunal sends his men to search for him. The commandos try to enter the Chabad House through the roof via a helicopter, but the live coverage on TV allows Lakhvi to pass on the exact details of this operation to the terrorists. Meanwhile, Santosh is excited about his channel’s improved TRP but fails to understand the damage the coverage has done to the operation.

All the terrorists at Chabad House are killed. At the Taj Hotel, Kunal and his team enter the kitchen for a final face-off with the terrorists. Meanwhile, Santosh is criticiSed for sensationaliSing a national tragedy. Kunal presents the Operation Black Tornado report. Meanwhile, Hafiz Saeed continues to hire new recruits for Jaish-e-Mohammed and a new recruit joins NSG to defend India against future threats.

During the interrogation, Kasab spills the beans and reveals important details and narrates the story of how he became a jihadi. He talks about his recruitment in Jaish-e-Mohammed and life in Daure-aam and Daure-khaas and how terror camps are run in an organised fashion.
