Uri: The Surgical Strike is a Hindi war action film directed by Aditya Dhar. The movie stars Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal, Kirti Kulhari, and Mohit Raina. The film is based on the real-life events of the 2016 Uri attack and the subsequent surgical strikes conducted by the Indian Army against suspected militants in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The story follows Major Vihaan Singh Shergill (played by Vicky Kaushal), a Para (Special Forces) officer, who leads the covert operation to avenge the killing of fellow army men at their base by a terrorist group.
The movie is divided into five chapters, each detailing different phases of the mission, from the initial ambush in Manipur to the final execution of the surgical strike. It highlights the meticulous planning, bravery, and patriotism of the Indian soldiers involved in the operation.
