Trivia

1. The phrase "Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte," repeated many times in the movie, is a combination of three Bollywood movies that starred the three big Khans: Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke (1993) with Aamir Khan, Phir Milenge (2004) with Salman Khan, and Chalte Chalte (2003) with Shah Rukh Khan, who was the lead in this movie.
2. The song "Haule Haule" was shot in three takes. Shah Rukh Khan improvised most of his dance moves throughout the shoot. He later said that while he felt uncomfortable wearing the wig and mustache, it was one of the most relaxing songs he had ever shot.
3. The song "Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte" pays tribute to the legendary Bollywood actors Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Dev Anand, and Rajesh Khanna. Each stanza of the song contains lyrics that represent the titles of songs filmed with those aforementioned actors.
4. The film has no songs performed by Abhijeet and Udit Narayan, two of Shah Rukh Khan's favorite playback singers. Instead, the male singers are Sonu Nigam, Roop Kumar Rathod, Sukhwinder Singh, and Labh Janjua.
5. The dancing Jodi motif seen throughout the film is the famous Raj Kapoor logo, which was designed after a scene between Raj Kapoor and Nargis in the film Barsaat (1949).
6. Before Mohabbatien, Aditya Chopra wanted to make this film with Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala. When Dil Se flopped, he decided not to make the film.
7. As part of the film's promotional campaign, the film's teaser trailer was released on November 2, 2008, Shah Rukh Khan's 43rd birthday.
8. Shah Rukh Khan has two completely different looks in the film, which were inspired by two contestants on Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain? (2008), the game show that he hosted.
9. The film doesn't feature any songs performed by Yash Raj Films' favorite Lata Mangeshkar. The female singers of this movie are Sunidhi Chauhan and Shreya Ghoshal.
10. As part of the film's promotional campaign, Yash Raj Films designed special lenticular posters that featured both Surinder Sahni and Raj dancing with Taani.
11. Debute movie of Indian actress Anushka Sharma.
12. Sonam Kapoor did a screen test and was strongly considered for the lead role.
13. Jelena Karleusa's song Insomnia featuring Mirza Hamzic sampled the song "Chance Pe Dance".
14. Rudebrat song "Eastern Riot" sampled the song "Haule Haule".
15. Yashraj employee, who went on to be a TV actress, Gurpreet Sandhu was selected for the lead role. When they went for the screen test they realized Gurpreet was way too tall for Shahrukh. She was then replaced.
16. Bipasha and Lara have never been paired with Shahrukh Khan as his heroine. They both get a stanza each in the song Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte - that is the closest they have come to be his romantic interest in a movie. Lara has later appeared in a supporting role in Don 2.
