Puratawn (also known as "The Ancient") is a Bengali drama film directed by Suman Ghosh. The story revolves around Ritika (played by Rituparna Sengupta) and her husband Rajeev (Indraneil Sengupta), who return to her ancestral home in West Bengal to celebrate her mother’s (Sharmila Tagore) 80th birthday. Upon their arrival, Ritika discovers her mother is suffering from memory loss, which forces her to confront this new reality. The film explores Ritika's journey of acceptance and the emotional challenges she faces as she comes to terms with her mother's irreversible condition.
