Pennum Porattum Movie (2026)

Pennum Porattum is a Malayalam drama set in Pattada, a village long shadowed by violence and harsh social judgment. The story revolves around three key figures - Gopalan Master, Charulatha, and Suttu, each confronting the brutality, gossip, and moral policing embedded in their community.
The film explores the struggles of the marginalized, especially women. Charulatha, pushed to the margins of village life, begins to push back against the control and scrutiny imposed on her. Her personal struggle gradually transforms into a public one as she challenges the oppressive systems around her. 
Meanwhile, Suttu, a Dalmatian dog in some narrative interpretations, symbolizes the longing for freedom, observing the chaotic human world and eventually choosing escape, while Charulatha remains trapped within Pattada’s unending cycle of violence, rumor, and injustice.
The film blends social commentary, dark humor, and raw village realism, highlighting how fear, moral panic, and collective frenzy shape people’s lives. Premiered at major film festivals before its theatrical release on February 6, 2026, it marks actor Rajesh Madhavan’s bold directorial debut.
