Ini Utharam is a suspense movie where the plot revolves around a girl who gets trapped in a fake case. She goes to a police station claiming she had murdered one person. The police suspect foul play, and the investigation starts around the murder. Dr Janaki goes to an Idukki police station and reveals she has murdered someone and surrenders to CI Karunan. She wants to take the CI to where the body is buried. He tries to dismiss her, however, after getting pressure from the media and local people, he is forced to take her to the crime spot.
Once they reach the spot, Janaki reveals that it is the CI who has helped her bury the body. When the police start digging, instead of one they find two bodies. However neither is the person who Janaki claims to have killed. The suspense builds up when the two bodies are found. How are Janaki and the CI connected to each other?
