Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire Movie (2024)

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is a 2024 American supernatural comedy film and the sequel to “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” (2021). Directed by Gil Kenan, it’s the fifth installment in the Ghostbusters franchise. The film features a mix of new and returning cast members, including Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, and the original Ghostbusters actors Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson.
Set two years after “Afterlife,” the story follows the veteran Ghostbusters and their new recruits as they face a chilling new threat. An ancient artifact has been discovered, unleashing a malevolent god who seeks to build a spectral army and plunge the world into a second Ice Age. The Ghostbusters must unite to save New York City and the world from this icy doom.
The film also pays tribute to the late Ivan Reitman, co-creator of the franchise and father of Jason Reitman, who posthumously receives a producer credit. “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” celebrates the 40th anniversary of the original film and had its world premiere in New York City on March 14, 2024.
