Dual movie is a science fiction thriller film which follows a woman who has to fight a clone of herself to death after she unexpectedly recovers from a terminal illness. The movie revolves around Sarah who is a depressed alcoholic in a dull relationship with her boyfriend, Peter. She feels disconnected from everyone, even her mother.
One day, Sarah wakes up to find a pool of blood in her bed and finds out that is terminally ill. She is told by the doctors that she will die soon. The doctor admits to a 2% margin of error, however, says her death is certain. This leads Sarah to opt for a cloning procedure which would allow her clone to take her place in case of her death so that her friends and family don’t miss her.
She dubs the clone "Sarah's Double" and gives her all information about her interests and lifestyle. However, there is a twist in the story when ten months later, Sarah is informed that she has gone into full remission. She decides to share the news with Peter and her mother only to find that the clone has been in contact with them. She demands her clone to be "decommissioned", however her wish is rejected by Peter, as well as her mother who say they prefer the clone to her. Watch the satirical sci-fi movie to find out more.
