Dastaar Movie (2026)

Dastaar is a Punjabi drama set in 1980s Britain that explores identity, resilience, and the immigrant experience. The story follows Harnek, a Sikh man who moves to a foreign land carrying his faith and cultural values, symbolized by his turban. His life takes a tragic turn when he loses his loved ones in a brutal racist attack, leaving him devastated and struggling to cope. 
As the narrative unfolds, Harnek channels his grief into strength rather than defeat. In an unfamiliar and often hostile environment, he gradually transforms from a vulnerable newcomer into a voice for his community. The film highlights his inner journey as he learns to stand firm, rebuild his life, and protect the dignity of his identity. Along the way, the struggles of the wider Sikh immigrant community are also brought into focus, showing both their vulnerabilities and their collective courage.
