1. Om Puri was angry with the makers when his role was cut to a three-scene cameo, originally his role was lengthier with more scenes with Salman.
2., Abhinay Kashyap, brother of Anurag Kashyap, wanted to make the film a gritty realistic fare like his brother's films. At that point, Randeep Hooda was to play the lead role. When Arbaaz heard the script, he decided to up the film's budget and make it a full-fledged masala commercial film. Wanted was a big hit, Salman Khan changed the entire script and brought in action, one-liners, and also the item song.
3. This film bought the Single screen audience back to the theatres in large numbers. It generated a distributor share of huge 51 crores in its first week alone including an 18 crores share from single screens alone which were more than the lifetime share for most big films. Ghajini (second highest grosser at that time) had a distributor share of 57 crores in its lifetime. It remains one of the biggest hits of the multiplex era only behind 3 idiots and almost similar to Dhoom 3 and a bigger hit than the likes of other mega-blockbusters like Ghajini, Ek Tha Tiger, Chennai express, and bodyguard.
4." Munni Badnaam Huyee" was a remake of "Lounda Badnaam Hua" from Rock Dancer. Larka Badnaam Hua from Pakistani film Mr. Charlie.
5. Salman Khan sported a mustache for the first time in his film career. Arbaaz Khan revealed it was Salman Khan's suggestion to keep a mustache look, which Arbaaz liked.
