Alappuzha Gymkhana is a Malayalam sports drama directed and produced by Khalid Rahman. The film follows the story of five friends—Jojo Johnson, David "DJ" John, Shifas "Valthu" Ahammed, Shifas "Cherthu" Ali, and Shanavas—who have just completed their 12th-grade board exams. While Shanavas passes, the rest fail, leaving their college admission prospects uncertain. After a scuffle involving Valthu and a state-level boxer's girlfriend, Jojo discovers that sports quota admissions through boxing tournaments are a viable route to college. The group decides to pursue boxing and enroll at the local Alappuzha Gymkhana boxing school under coach Salim. However, Shanavas soon loses interest and quits, while DJ switches to wrestling. Jojo, Valthu, and Cherthu persist and are later mentored by Antony Joshua, a state-level boxer. They compete in the Alappuzha District Boxing Selection Championship to earn a spot in the Kerala State Amateur Boxing Championship. The film explores their journey, the challenges they face, and their personal growth through the sport.
