The Tizen-based smartwatch, Samsung Gear S, is now available on the Amazon India website. The device has been put up at a price of Rs. 27,900 and runs on Samsung’s own Tizen operating system. The company had earlier put it up for pre-orders in the country, with a booking amount of Rs. 1,000. In addition, the device is also available on the Samsung India Store online.

The Samsung Gear S runs on a 1 GHz dual-core SoC and can take its own nano-SIM card. The device has 4 GB of internal memory and a 300 mAh Li-ion battery. While the Samsung Gear S is technically a standalone device that does not require it to be tethered to a smartphone, it however needs a Samsung Galaxy device to activate, install apps and change core settings of the device.

The Gear S also has 512 MB of RAM and a micro-USB port of its own. It weighs only 67 grams and has a 2 inch Super AMOLED display with 360×480 pixel resolution.
