Apple seems to have already finalised its next-generation smartwatches’ design, and to much surprise, the users might get to see a whole lot of nothing. While rumours of a new look with the Apple Watch Series 12 have been going around for a while now, the recent reports have made it clear that the device will likely launch with a similar design to its predecessors. However, users may still get to see some software upgrades with the newer models. If the current reports are to be trusted, then it would be the third consecutive year for Apple to stick with what has already proven to be successful in the market.
While speaking at Bloomberg’s Q&A session, Mark Gurman confirmed that the upcoming Apple Watch Series 12 will feature a design similar to its older models. However, Apple isn’t the only company sticking with older designs, as Google and Samsung have also retained similar looks in their recent smartwatches.
The Apple Watch Series 12 might get launched with two display sizes, notably the 42mm and 46mm. The bezels are expected to remain thin, much like the older models. Moreover, the device is expected to be available in aluminium and titanium finishes.

The smartwatch is also tipped to sport an S12 SiP (System In Package). The chipset is said to be built on 3nm technology. Other than that, the device is expected to come packed with a bigger battery when compared to its predecessors and expected to run for 24 hours when used normally.
It’s also anticipated that the Apple Watch 12 series may boast 64GB of internal storage. And much like the other Apple Watches, it may also come in both GPS-only and GPS + Cellular (5G) configurations.

Rumours also suggest that it may come with a biometric sensor which might possibly get integrated into the digital crown or positioned under the display. It would help the users to securely unlock the device or make payment authentications without requiring a PIN.
On the software front, the smartwatch will likely debut with watchOS 27, which would be heavy on AI-powered health insights and “Workout Buddy” tools powered by Apple Intelligence.
