Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8.1 update will enable users to add background image on the homescreen.

New details about Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8.1 update have emerged on the web. According to leaked screenshots, the next update will bring an option to set a background image on the Start screen. Moreover, users will have option to make Live Tiles transparent that can also be skinned with an image in the background.

The customisation option, however, will not be enabled by default. According to reports, users will not be able to skin all the tiles. Apps such as Office and Xbox Music will retain the solid colour. The new update is expected to start rolling out to developers next month at BUILD conference, San Francisco from April 2-4.
