In recent years, Vivo has consistently tried to strike a balance between performance and value in the mid-range segment with its T series. Last year, the series got popular with the introduction of the T4 Pro, and this time around, they’ve introduced the successor, the T5 Pro, in the Indian markets, which was recently unveiled. But does it actually improve upon the T4 Pro, or does it change priorities rather than upgrading upon them? Let’s find out in our detailed comparison between the Vivo T5 Pro and the Vivo T4 Pro.

Firstly, let’s start with the front, where the T4 Pro houses a 6.77-inch AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution. It gets a high refresh rate 120 Hz screen with 5,000 nits of peak brightness. The T5 Pro, meanwhile, builds on this foundation with a slightly larger 6.8-inch AMOLED display at 1.5K resolution. There is a bump in the refresh rate, as it comes with a 144Hz refresh rate, along with the same 5000 nits of brightness.
Moving on to the battery department, this area is where the successor sees a massive upgrade. Compared to the Vivo T4 Pro, which had a 6,500mAh battery, the upgraded T5 Pro houses a much larger 9,020mAh battery. In terms of charging, both the T4 Pro and the T5 Pro come with support for 90W flash charging.
Coming to the performance, the Vivo T4 Pro comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, which is a powerful SoC. However unfortunately, the T5 Pro drops down to a slightly less powerful chip, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. Early benchmark scores suggest slightly lower peak performance compared to its predecessor.
Speaking of optics, the T4 Pro came packed with a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 2MP depth camera. Over on the front, the device had a 32MP front camera with 4K recording support. However, in this department, the T5 Pro has a bit of a downgrade, as it houses a dual-camera setup. The device features a 50MP rear camera with a 2MP sensor and a 32MP selfie camera on the front.
Last but not least, let’s also take a look at the pricing. The Vivo T4 Pro launched in India at Rs 27,999 for the 8GB + 128GB base variant, going up to Rs 31,999 for the 12GB + 256GB option. While the T5 Pro steps into a slightly higher bracket, it starts at Rs 29,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant. The higher 8GB + 256GB variant is priced at Rs 33,999, while the top-end 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant is priced at Rs 39,999.
