Vivo is all set to make a comeback of its S with the upcoming S2 series in India. The smartphone lineup will be getting a new addition after nearly six years. While the company has been tight-lipped about the device specifications, leaks and rumours are already painting a clear picture of the device. Furthermore, the smartphone was reportedly spotted on the Geekbench website, giving us more clues about the specifications of the device. Vivo S2: Launch date

Vivo has already begun teasing the upcoming smartphone through its official X handle. Not only that, but Amazon has also gone live with a dedicated microsite for the Vivo S2, signalling that the device launch is just days away. Although Vivo is yet to confirm an official launch date, multiple reports suggest that the smartphone will debut in the Indian market on August 6 and may go on sale starting August 11.

Vivo S2: Specs (Expected)

According to a recent report by 91Mobiles, they spotted a new Vivo device with the code name ‘V2576’ in the Geekbench database. The smartphone is expected to be the Vivo S2. The report claims that the device scored 998 points in single-core tests, while in the multi-core tests it scored 2,825 points.

Moreover, the specification sheet also reveals that this phone is equipped with Android 16, 8GB of RAM, and a MediaTek MT6878 chipset, which includes 4 performance and 4 efficiency cores working at 2.5GHz and 2.0GHz, respectively. Based on the chipset identifier and CPU layout, the SoC appears to belong to the Dimensity 7300 family. This majorly aligns with the previous leaks that suggested that the device will land with MediaTek’s Dimensity 7360 chipset.

Tipster Sanju Choudhary recently shared that the smartphone will be shipped with a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display coupled with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate and curved edges. It’s also tipped that the device will house a massive 7050mAh battery and will be supported by 44W of fast charging.

Reports also suggest that the smartphone may land in three colour options, notably white, pink and blue. Out of the box the smartphone may run on OriginOS 6, which is a skin based on Android 16. The device is also said to bag IP68 and IP69 certifications.

In terms of optics, the smartphone is said to come equipped with a dual camera setup and a circular LED light ring at the back. It may include a 50MP primary camera along with a 2MP secondary camera. At the front the handset will likely sport a 32MP camera for perfect selfies and video calls.

Though the official pricings will only be revealed at the time of launch, the leaks suggest that the smartphone could launch with a price tag of Rs 43,000.
