Sony Xperia Yuga to sport Exynos 5 quad-core CPU, glass backpanel?

Updated on 14-Dec-2012

Sony Xperia’s 5-inch 1080p HD phablet Yuga pictures were leaked towards the end of last month and the latest rumour that is doing the rounds on the net says that the Yuga C660X will be powered by a quad-core Exynos 5 SoC made by Samsung.

The Yuga will also sport 3GB of RAM, a 5-inch 1080p HD OLED display, a 16MP camera, have 128GB of in-built memory and will house a 3000 mAh battery. Additional features include water and dust resistance and the presence of an IR port.

Keeping in line with the flagship phones from Apple and Google, the Sony Xperia Yuga is also expected to sport a glass backpanel. The Asahi Dragontrail is a type of hardened glass which is light enough to be used as a chassis. So long as it does not suffer from issues such as cracking of glass due to temperature differences it makes sense for Sony to include a glass back on its reported flagship model.

The Sony Xperia Yuga is most likely rumoured to be announced at CES 2013. So it won’t be long before we come across the real thing.
