South Korean tech giant Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S27 Ultra as part of the S27 series in India next year. While we are still months away from the launch, several details about the flagship have been tipped ahead of its possible debut. The closest competitor to the S27 Ultra will be Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro Max. Besides this, the handset will likely compete with Ultra phones in the Android world, particularly the Vivo X300 Ultra.
For a better view of how the three handsets may compete across segments like specifications and pricing, here is a comparison of the rumoured Galaxy S27 Ultra with the iPhone 18 Pro Max and Vivo X300 Ultra.
Display: Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to sport a 6.9-inch 2K M16 AMOLED 120Hz screen with the Privacy Display 2.0 feature. iPhone 18 Pro Max gets a 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR OLED 120Hz screen. Vivo X300 Ultra gets a 6.82-inch 2K AMOLED 144Hz display.
Performance: While the details remain unconfirmed, the S27 Ultra may ship with either a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 or Exynos 2700 processor. On the other hand, the iPhone 18 Pro and Vivo X300 Ultra pack an A20 Pro and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. While Samsung’s upcoming offering may boot on the latest OneUI 9 based on Android 17, the 18 Pro and X300 Ultra ship with iOS 27 and OriginOS 6 (based on Android 16), respectively.
Battery: Samsung’s upcoming offering could pack a 5,700mAh battery with 60W wired and 25W wireless charging support. The iPhone gets a 5,391mAh battery with support for 25W wireless charging, GSMArena’s listing claims. The X300 Ultra houses a 6,600mAh battery with 100W wired and 40W wireless charging support.
Camera: Unlike the S26 Ultra’s quad cameras, the S27 Ultra may get a triple camera setup: 200MP OIS main, 50MP ultrawide and 50MP 5x telephoto sensor. iPhone 18 Pro Max gets a 48MP main, 48MP ultrawide and a 48MP telephoto rear optics and an 18MP Center Stage camera.
