The launch of the Pixel 4a has been postponed

The phone will now be announced on July 13 but will officially launch in October

The 'Barely Blue' variant has been removed entirely from the lineup

After the Pixel 4 did not release in India because of a radar sensor feature, it was thought that the Pixel 4a would be the next Google smartphone to hit Indian shores. The company could have been looking at announcing the phone at the Google I/O event but since the Coronavirus pandemic brought the world to its knees, the event did not take place. The phone was then rumoured to be launched on July 13 but a leakster by the name of Jon Prosser says that though the Pixel 4a will be announced on July 13, we may have to wait for quite a bit to actually get our hands on the phone.

According to Prosser, the Pixel 4a will be announced on July 13 but will only be launched on October 22. For now, the ‘Just Black’ variant seems to be the only phone that will launch while the ‘Barely Blue’ variant ‘has been removed entirely’. Prosser has earlier said that the black Pixel 4a would be out on August 6 and the blue Pixel 4a would be launched on October 1. As of now, there is no word on why the dates have been moved nor is there an explanation for why the blue variant of the Pixel 4a has been taken off the lineup.
