Oppo Reno3 5G confirmed to be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1000L 5G SoC

Oppo Reno3 series is all set to be unveiled in China on December 26, and the company is confirming specifications one by one. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has already revealed the design of the Reno3 smartphones in teaser videos. We know that the Reno3 Pro 5G will be powered by the recently announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset. Now, the company has confirmed the chipset of Reno3 5G.

The latest development comes from Oppo’s official website where it is mentioned that the Oppo Reno3 5G will be powered by the MediaTek's Dimensity 1000L 5G SoC. The company has already started taking registrations of interest and has teased a lot of features that will be integrated inside the phone. The bottom of the registration page has confirmed the chipset used in Reno3 5G. 

To recall, MediaTek Dimensity 1000 SoC was launched last month. It comes integrated with MediaTek’s 5G modem and it is said to be a combination of advanced technologies packed into a 7nm chip and tuned for 5G performance. According to the company, The Dimensity 1000 5G SoC supports 5G two carrier aggregation (2CC CA) and boasts the world's fastest throughput SoC with 4.7 Gbps downlink and 2.5 Gbps uplink speeds over sub-6 GHz networks. It also integrates the latest Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1+ standards for the fastest and most efficient local wireless connectivity.

Previously, the company also confirmed that Reno3 series phones will have “360° antennas.” It is said to ensure optimal connectivity regardless of how a person holds the phone. The Reno3 smartphones are said to switch between 4G and 5G connections depending on what a user is doing, battery consumption and the internal temperature. The Reno3 series is rumoured to have three phones namely, Oppo Reno3, Reno3 5G and Reno3 Pro 5G.
