OnePlus Turbo 6, which is rumoured to launch globally as the Nord 6, is expected to get a massive battery under the hood. Thanks to the recent developments made to the new silicon-carbon battery technology, smartphone battery capacities are finally becoming bigger. We’ve been seeing a new trend in the market, where many offerings from Oppo, OnePlus and Realme now have over 7,000 mAh battery capacities. But it looks like OnePlus does not want to stop there, as it is being reported that they could release the newest addition to their Nord lineup, the OnePlus Nord 6, with the biggest battery upgrade ever.

OnePlus Nord 6 may feature a 9,000 mAh battery

The OnePlus Turbo 6, which is releasing today in China, has been reported to have a massive 9,000 mAh battery. While the Turbo 6 is the name of the device in China, the rebrand for the global market will likely come in the form of the Nord 6. The device has already appeared in both TDRA and SIRIM certification databases, with the model number CPH2795. Since then, given the specs, these certifications confirm that it will likely be a rebrand of the Turbo 6.

As for the expected specifications for the device, the OnePlus Nord 6 will likely come with a 1.5K Flat OLED Display with a 165Hz refresh rate. In terms of durability, the device comes with IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications. Inside, powering the device could be the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, paired with UFS 3.1 storage. In terms of cameras, the device is expected to come with a 50MP main camera, along with an 8MP ultra-wide camera.

However, the main highlight for the device comes in the form of the massive 9,000 mAh battery. Such huge battery sizes have mostly been seen on rugged smartphone devices, which are not practical for most consumers. OnePlus is likely going to feature its 80W fast charging on this device, and that’s certainly important to charge such a big battery. Given the huge battery, it is safe to assume that users could even use the phone to charge other devices too, and that’s why the device will even come with support for 27W reverse charging support too.

To recall, the OnePlus Nord 5 was launched in India last year in July. The phone comes powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 paired with a 6,800mAh battery under the hood. Its price started from Rs 31,999; however, given the current market situation regarding the rising component prices, expect the Nord 6 to come with a significant price hike.
