While renders of the next OnePlus flagship smartphones, namely the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro have been circulating on the internet, we now have a leaked launch date of the two smartphones. According to the latest rumours, OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro are expected to launch in Q2 2020.
The latest development comes in the form of a tweet from Tipster Max J who has claimed that both the phones will launch in the second quarter of next year. The time coincides with the usual launch timeline of OnePlus phones. OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro were launched in May this year.
Earlier, @OnLeaks posted images of OnePlus 8 Pro. The alleged renders showed a design change seems to be in ṭhe works for OnePlus’ next year flagship. The key change in design is the presence of a punch-hole display and quad rear camera setup. If this turns out to be true, OnePlus 8 Pro will be the company’s first phone with a quad-camera setup.
Renders of both OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro showcase a punch-hole display design, along with a screen that curves along both the vertical edges. According to the rumours, OnePlus 8 Pro might sport a 6.65-inch display, which is slightly bigger than the 6.5-inch panel touted to be equipped on the OnePlus 8. The 90Hz refresh rate on the display is already confirmed as OnePlus has announced its new and upcoming phones will come with the stated higher refresh rate.
As for the optics, OnePlus 8 Pro is expected to have four cameras are housed together in a single module. There could be a 3D ToF sensor, along with an LED flash. From the renders, the power button and the alert slider can be seen on the right edge of the handset, while the volume buttons are on the device’s left edge.
