Motorola unveiled the Razr Fold earlier this year, first at CES 2026 in January and then at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 earlier this month. The Razr Fold is important for the brand because this is its first attempt at a book-style foldable form factor. While Motorola has dabbled with foldable tech for its flip-style phones in the Razr lineup thus far, it always seemed like a natural extension of its history with the Razr V3 clamshell-style mobiles. With the Razr Fold, Motorola aims to go head-to-head with the Samsung Z Fold and Vivo X Fold series of foldables. Here’s everything you need to know about the Razr Fold, its release date in India, specifications and price in India.
The Motorola Razr Fold, Motorola’s first book-style foldable phone was showcased at CES and MWC earlier this year. The Razr Fold is expected to launch in India in the coming months across the US, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
The Motorola Razr Fold features a 6.6-inch cover display with a 165Hz refresh rate, FHD+ resolution and support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+. Unfolded, there is an 8.1-inch main display with a 120Hz refresh rate that offers a 2K resolution, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support. The cover display is protected by the Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 and the phone is IPX9 rated for protection against water. It also supports the Moto Pen Ultra stylus.
The Razr Fold measures 4.6mm thick when unfolded and 9.9mm thick when folded and also weighs 244 grams, all of which makes it chunkier than the Z Fold 7 and X Fold 5.
It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC which is paired with upto 16GB RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage options to choose from. It runs on Android 16 and Motorola promises upto 7 years of Android upgrades.
The Razr Fold has the same rear camera setup as the Motorola Signature (review). It consists of three 50-megapixel cameras, the main camera with f/1.6 aperture, a periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and an ultra-wide sensor with a 122-degree FOV. This triple camera system can record in 10-bit HDR10+ and Dolby Vision at 8K, 4K, 60 FPS with OIS.
There is a 20-megapixel selfie camera on the main screen and a 32-megapixel front camera on the cover screen. Both front cameras can record in 4K.
The Razr Fold has stereo speakers that are tuned by Bose and also support Dolby Atmos. In terms of security, there is a side-mounted fingerprint reader.
The Razr Fold has a 6,000mAh battery that supports 80W wired, 50W wireless fast charging and reverse wired and wireless charging.
The Motorola Razr Fold price has only been revealed for Europe, which is EUR 1,999. With the price of the Razr Fold in India under wraps, rumours indicate that it could be closer to the Rs 1.5 lakh price range, the same segment as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Vivo X Fold 5.
