Lava Z50 smartphone with Android Go (Oreo Edition), 4.5-inch display announced for India

Lava has announced its latest smartphone, the LAVA Z50 for India running Android Oreo (Go Edition). It will be available via retailers by mid March 2018 in black and gold colour variants. It is aimed at first time smartphone users and users upgrading from a feature phone to a smartphone. It comes with a 2-year warranty and is bundled with a Rs 2000 cashback offer from Airtel as well. As a special launch offer, the company is offering a free one-time screen replacement if the device’s screen breaks within 1 year from the date of purchase.

In terms of specifications, the Lava Z50 features a 4.5-inch display with a Corning Gorilla Glass on top for protection. It is powered by the Mediatek MT6737m quad-core processor clocked at 1.1 GHz and features 1GB RAM coupled with 8GB of internal storage. As per the company, the device makes more internal storage available for the users (5.5GB vs 3GB space which is normally available in 8GB ROM devices). The smartphone is equipped with a 5MP sensor on both the rear and the front, along with flash and can capture bokeh shots as well.

The new smartphone comes soon after Alcatel showcased the first smartphone running on the Android Oreo (Go Edition) at the Mobile World Congress 2018.
