Huawei Nova 2s with 18:9 bezel-less display, 6GB RAM and four cameras launched in China

Huawei launched the Nova 2s which succeeds the Nova 2i and features dual cameras on the front and back, along with 6GB of RAM and a 6-inch fullHD 18:9 display with minimal bezels.

The world’s second largest smartphone vendor, Huawei, launched the Nova 2s, a mid-range bezel-less phone at an event in China on Thursday. The phone is the successor to the Huawei Nova 2 and the Nova 2 Plus and comes with a 6-inch edge-to-edge display and four cameras. 

The Nova 2s, like the previous Nova 2i comes with four cameras, two on each side of the phone. On the rear is a 16-megapixel RGB sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor with a 120-degree wide angle lens and f/1.8 aperture. On the front are a combo of 20-megapixel wide-angle sensor and a 2-megapixel lens to capture portrait selfies. 

Like most Huawei phones this year, the Nova 2s also features a 6-inch full HD FullVision display, which Huawei’s marketing speak for 18:9 bezel-less panels. The phone is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 960 chipset coupled with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM and comes with 128GB of storage, which is further expandable via a microSD card. 

The Nova 2s is a dual-SIM phone with Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C and a 3,340mAh battery. THe Nova 2s 4GB variant is priced CNY 2,699 (roughly Rs 26,300) while the 6GB variant is priced at CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs 29,300). The Shenzhen-based company also launched a special edition “Yixing Zhang” version of the phone priced at CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs 33,000)
