iPhone 18 Pro Design
Next year’s iPhone 20 has been long reported to be a special upgrade by Apple because of the 20th anniversary next year. Reports suggested how the iPhone 20 could be a massive upgrade in terms of the design, as Apple was going to completely ditch the Dynamic Island in favour of something completely futuristic. Instead of the cutout, Apple would have integrated a completely full-screen design on the front. However, recent reports suggest that it could not be the case, since things aren’t going as planned. Let’s take a look at why Apple’s iPhone 20 could be missing out on one of the most hyped features.
As reported by 9to5Mac, while many have been expecting the iPhone 20 with the special all-screen design, new leaks suggest that may not be the case. A new leak from Weibo talked about next year’s iPhone 20, where the leaker highlighted the current issues Apple is facing. The post suggested that the company has been unable to make solid progress with under-display technology.
While under-display camera tech has existed for a long time, the problem Apple is facing is with moving all the Face ID components with the camera under the iPhone’s display. Given how complex Face ID has been since the start, this was bound to happen. The leaker suggested that for now Apple could just be focusing on reducing the size of the dynamic island for now. Suggesting Apple is ‘still a long way off from achieving a truly full-screen display.’
Previously, it was rumoured that the phone would completely ditch the dynamic island, meaning that there would have been no cutouts on the display. Not only that, but the bezels were also reported to be minimal around the screen. Many were calling it the ‘dream iPhone’ that Jony Ive, Apple’s former chief design officer, spoke about frequently over the past few years.
While the full-screen iPhone design may still be a talk of the future, speaking of which, the Apple foldable device is still going as planned, per reports. It is reportedly going to be launched this year itself, along with the introduction of the iPhone 18 and 18 Pro lineups.
