In a rare and unexpected blunder, Apple’s official support account on Chinese platform Weibo accidentally posted a promotional video of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7. Although Apple quickly deleted the post, it was online long enough to be seen and saved by many users. The incident has since gone viral. Well-known leaker Ice Universe shared a screen recording of Apple’s mistake on X (now deleted).
While the exact cause of the error is unknown, it appears to be a simple mix-up by someone from Apple’s social media team. Still, such a slip is highly unusual for a company like Apple.
The timing also adds to the embarrassment. Apple’s first foldable iPhone, rumoured to be called the iPhone Fold, is still at least a year away from launch. Leaks suggest it could arrive in late 2026 with a 7.8-inch foldable display and a 5.5-inch outer screen.
With this accidental shoutout from Apple, it’s safe to say the Galaxy Z Flip 7 got a little extra publicity.
