The summer season is at an all-time high in the Indian market, and getting an AC has become a necessity, rather than a luxury. While most of the ACs available in the country today are from brands around the world, there has been a rise in terms of Indian brands in the space as well. And amidst this, another Indian climate-tech startup, Optimist, has entered the market with its debut AC range. The company says that its lineup is engineered specifically to handle India’s increasingly brutal summers. Let’s take a look at their latest lineup of AC in the market
The company has launched a 1.4-ton 5-star inverter split AC, which, as per the company, delivers stable cooling even at outdoor temperatures of 50°C. They’re doing so because of the microchannel heat exchanger, which is optimised for thermal design, and a twin-rotary inverter compressor.
Furthermore, the AC also features a Turbo+ mode that temporarily pushes output to the equivalent of a 1.9-ton unit for faster cool-down. In terms of efficiency, the AC comes with an ISEER rating of 6.05, which the brand claims is among the highest in India. It is designed to bring electricity bills down by at least 25 to 35%.
The AC comes with a unique feature, and that’s in the form of a built-in gas-level indicator. As per the company, it has been added to address one of the most common pain points of AC ownership, which is gas leaks that go undetected until cooling degrades. Furthermore, it even features an AI-enabled app that further tracks energy usage, monitors filter health, predicts maintenance needs, and enables remote control and diagnostics from anywhere.

In terms of warranty, the company is currently offering a 5-year comprehensive warranty on key functional components and a 10-year compressor warranty. The AC is backed by its own installation and service teams across the markets it has been launched in.
The latest 1.4-ton 5-star inverter split AC from Optimist has been launched for Rs 39,990. It can be purchased on Amazon, Optimist’s official website, and their stores, with the initial rollout covering Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Jaipur. The brand has further confirmed that their 1-ton and 2-ton variants are expected to be released later this year.
