The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has recently introduced WhatsApp services for EPFO subscribers that allow them to check provident fund details without visiting the EPFO office or using online platforms. According to the details shared, the members can check their PF balance, view passbook information and see their five latest transactions simply on their registered WhatsApp account. The new service was launched by Union Labour and Employment Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya during the organisation’s 74th Foundation Day celebrations in New Delhi on 1 November 2026. Follow along with the article to learn everything about the new WhatsApp-based service from EPFO.
The EPFO’s verified WhatsApp service lets eligible members access four key services over the messaging app, which are as follows:
The authorities clarified that the PMVBRY assistance is particularly useful for the members whose scheme-related requirements are pending because of incomplete Aadhaar authentication or other documentation issues.
If you want to access EPFO services through WhatsApp, the process is quite simple. However, before proceeding, it is important to note that these services cannot be accessed using just any WhatsApp number. You must ensure that the WhatsApp account you use is linked to the same mobile number registered with the EPFO.
Now, to access the feature, you can simply open WhatsApp > press the search box > type +91 8796441800 (the organisation’s verified number) > send ‘Hi’. Alternatively, you can also scan the QR code shared by EPFO on its official X account to directly access the verified chat. Once there, you can simply start by typing ‘Hi’.

The WhatsApp service was not the only major announcement at EPFO’s 74th Foundation Day celebrations, as Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister of Labour and Employment, also launched an automatic settlement facility for eligible inoperative EPF accounts with balances of up to Rs 1,000.
Members with Aadhaar-verified inactive accounts will not have to submit individual claims in order to get their eligible dues under this initiative. Instead, before sending the funds to the appropriate recipients, EPFO will perform the necessary identity and bank account checks.
