Samsung has finally set a date for the official launch of its Project Moohan XR headset. The company first teased the headset back in January during its Unpacked event and has showcased demos throughout the year. Recent leaks have revealed almost all the details about the device, and now Samsung is ready to make it official at its upcoming ‘Worlds Wide Open’ Galaxy event. For those unaware, Project Moohan is Samsung’s first device built on the new Android XR platform which is developed in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm.

Samsung’s ‘Worlds Wide Open’ Galaxy event is scheduled for October 21 at 10 PM ET (October 22 at 7:30 AM IST in India). You can watch the event live directly on Samsung’s official Newsroom website or its YouTube channel.
The Moohan XR headset is expected to weigh around 545 grams, with soft cushioning around the lenses and an adjustable strap for a secure fit. Detachable light shields will likely help block outside distractions. It is said to feature 4K micro-OLED screens, delivering a total of 29 million pixels.

Project Moohan is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 processor. It will likely offer hand, eye and voice tracking. There could be six front cameras, four infrared eye-tracking cameras, and a depth sensor to understand gestures and surroundings. Furthermore, built-in speakers are expected to be there on both sides. Users can expect up to 2.5 hours of video playback or about 2 hours of general use.
