Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G with 200MP Camera gets massive Price drop on Amazon
Samsung has officially launched the One UI 9 beta programme, and the South Korean tech giant is allowing the Galaxy S26 users to try Samsung’s upcoming Android 17-based software before its full release. The new update is said to bring personalisation options, improved accessibility features, better security, and new creative tools in Samsung apps. However, do note that the beta version is currently available in selected countries, which include India, South Korea, and the United States. Alongside changes to core apps and system controls, Samsung has also introduced a native internet speed indicator through its Good Lock platform. Reports further suggest the company may already be testing One UI 9 on several other Galaxy smartphones and foldable devices.
One UI 9 brings several updates to Samsung’s built-in applications, though it’s currently in beta version. One of the first changes that you can see is in Samsung Notes, as it now comes with decorative tape effects and additional pen line styles, allowing users to create more personalised notes.
Other than that, the Contacts app has also been updated with direct access to Creative Studio, enabling users to design custom profile cards without switching between apps.
Samsung has also redesigned parts of the Quick Panel so the users can now adjust brightness, sound, and media controls independently. Aside from that, the panel also offers more size and layout options for greater customisation.
If that’s not enough, the One UI 9 adds adjustable mouse key speed settings for smoother cursor control. Samsung has also combined TalkBack features previously offered separately by Samsung and Google into a single package. A new Text Spotlight feature can display selected text in a larger and clearer floating window, making reading easier.

Security improvements are another key highlight. The software can detect newly identified high-risk apps, warn users about potential threats, block installation or execution when necessary, and recommend app removal through updated security policies.
The One UI 9 beta programme is currently available only for the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. However, reports also claim that Samsung may be soon expanding the beta programme to other devices, including the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy A57, Galaxy A34, Galaxy A17 5G, Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.
Samsung has officially confirmed that the Galaxy S26 series users in India, South Korea, Germany, Poland, the UK, and the US can currently download and enjoy the One UI 9 beta. However, the company has not yet announced when the beta will expand to more Galaxy devices.
