What happens after the splashdown

Once the Orion spacecraft lands in the Pacific Ocean, a team from NASA and the US Navy will handle the recovery process to ensure the astronauts return safely. First, trained divers will reach the spacecraft and secure it in the water so it remains stable. After the capsule is stabilised, the astronauts will come out of the spacecraft. They will then be transported by helicopter to a nearby naval ship.
