Meta has introduced Muse, a personal AI agent designed to help people complete everyday tasks with less effort. The company says Muse can do more than answer questions. It can take action on a user’s behalf, such as sending emails, booking travel and filling out online forms. It can also help with bigger goals by creating a plan and working on it over time. Muse is designed to work like a normal chat. Users can talk to it through the Muse app or WhatsApp. Meta says the agent is built with privacy and security in mind. It runs inside a dedicated virtual machine that keeps the user’s data and connected services separate from other users.
Users can tell Muse what they want to get done. Then, the AI agent can create a plan and carry out the required steps. It can open a browser, fill in online forms and complete tasks. For longer tasks, Muse can work even after the user closes the app. It can return when something changes or when it needs approval. For example, it can ask for permission before sending an email or making a purchase.
Muse is powered by Muse Spark, which Meta calls its “most capable model to date” for real-world agentic tasks.

Muse AI agent can also remember useful information shared by users. For example, it can turn a recipe saved on Instagram into a grocery list. It can also remember dietary preferences when helping plan a dinner party.
Security is a major part of Muse. It runs inside the Muse Secure VM, a dedicated computer in the cloud. “Muse runs on its own dedicated computer in the cloud, contained so no one else’s agent can reach it. That is where Muse lives and where the data and credentials for any service a person connects are securely stored,” Meta explained.
Also, users can decide which apps Muse can access and what it can do. They can also disconnect services or ask Muse to forget information.
Muse is rolling out in the US on iOS, Android and muse.ai. Meta also plans to bring it to its AI glasses soon.
The company says Muse is free for most everyday needs. Subscription plans will be there for users who want access to more features.
