Facebook down: Meta-owned social media platform Facebook is currently experiencing an outage. On Downdetector, an online outage monitoring platform, more than 2,000 users in the United States have reported issues with the social media app. In India, there are just 13 reports so far. Most of the reported problems seem to be linked to the Facebook feed. Downdetector data shows that around 42 per cent of users are facing issues with the feed, while about 24 per cent have reported problems while logging in. The remaining 18 per cent of users say they are facing issues with the app.
Reports of the outage started appearing at midnight and have continued to rise since then. As usual, many frustrated users shared their experiences on X and Downdetector. While one user posted on X, ‘Is Facebook down right now? I can’t open shit. I need it for work,’ another wrote on Downdetector, ‘I guess there are others. My feed came up once and then disappeared and has been gone for several minutes.’
So far, Meta has not released any official statement regarding the issue. For now, users facing problems with Facebook will have to wait until the company identifies the cause and restores the service.

Facebook is one of the most widely used social media platforms in the world, where millions of people share photos, videos, and stories every day. It has become an integral part of daily life for many users. While the exact cause of the current outage remains unclear, the number of complaints shows how heavily people rely on the platform for updates, entertainment, and communication.
