Google has officially started rolling out the Gemini Spark feature for the Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra users in India. With the new feature, the eligible users will now be able to access the AI agent that can complete everyday digital tasks on their behalf. Unlike a regular chatbot that only responds when asked, Gemini Spark continues working in the background, even if your laptop is shut down or your phone is locked. The users can also connect the AI agent directly with Workspace apps like Gmail, Docs and Sheets without any additional setup, as it’s built on Google’s secure cloud infrastructure.
Gemini Spark is Google’s new AI agent, powered by the Gemini 3.6 Flash. This is a new model which aims to go past the traditional question-and-answer model and start doing tasks based on instructions from the users. After assigning a task to Gemini Spark, it is able to perform the tasks without supervision.
The service works with Google’s cloud infrastructure, allowing it to interact directly with Workspace applications such as Gmail, Google Docs and Google Sheets. Since it runs in the cloud, Spark continues working even when the user’s devices are offline.

Google says Spark always works under the user’s control. People decide whether to enable it and choose which Google apps it can access. It is also designed to ask for approval before carrying out important actions such as sending emails or making purchases.
Note: It is a phased rollout, so you may not see the AI agent immediately.
The Indian users who are running on Google AI Pro or Ultra plans can access the Gemini Spark via the Gemini website or dedicated Gemini app. Now in the left menu select Google Spark. Following that you can now write or speak simple instructions to the AI agent for the task you want to complete. These prompts can be one-time requests or recurring jobs scheduled to run automatically.

For example, you can ask Spark to organise wedding RSVP emails into a table, draft replies to customer enquiries, create travel itineraries from booking confirmations or review monthly invoices to identify subscription price increases. It can also build a personalised email writing style by studying previous emails and use that style whenever it drafts future messages.
