Commuters in Delhi are facing travel disruptions as the Delhi Metro has temporarily closed 16 stations in central Delhi for the second day in a row. The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has been holding a protest demanding the resignation of the Union Education Minister over the NEET issue. To manage crowds and maintain law and order in the area, the metro authority has shut passenger movement at stations close to the protest site. While trains will continue to pass through these stations, they will not stop there. Additionally, the station gates will remain closed, so passengers will not be able to enter or exit at these stations. However, interchanges at these stations will continue to operate as usual.
Here is a complete list of the metro stations that are currently closed:
DMRC has posted on its official X account that the above-mentioned 16 stations will remain closed. The stations were closed at 7:30 in the morning, and the rail corporation has said that they will remain closed until further notice. While the entry and exit at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House and Central Secretariat have been closed, the exchange services still remain functional.
