Apple has reported a strong quarterly performance driven largely by the demand for its latest devices, including the iPhone 17 series and the more affordable MacBook Neo. The company issued an optimistic sales outlook for the coming quarter amid the ongoing supply chain pressures and rising component costs. The shares of the company also rose after hours trading after the announcement.
As per the reports, the iPhone sales reached $56.99 billion, slightly below estimates, with CEO Tim Cook attributing the shortfall to the limited availability of advanced chips used in the iPhone 17 lineup. Even after the constraints, Apple called exceptionally strong demand for its flagship smartphones, with the company’s CFO noting that the iPhone 17 family has become the most popular lineup in its history. The company also indicated that it gained market share during the quarter, suggesting stronger performance relative to competitors.

Apart from the smartphones, Apple’s Mac segment also saw a massive boost, thanks to the newly introduced MacBook Neo, a lower-cost laptop. The device was seen as a strategic push into a price-sensitive segment traditionally dominated by Chromebooks. The report suggested that the Mac revenue stood at $8.4 billion, which is more than the expectations.
On the other hand, Apple’s services business saw a steady growth, giving nearly $31 billion in revenue, while sales in China also exceeded the forecasts. And now, the company expects revenue growth between 14 per cent and 17 per cent for the current quarter, well above market projections. However, the company warned that rising memory costs and ongoing supply limitations could impact margins in the near term.
Many reports also suggested that the tech giant has also increased its research and development spending, specifically in artificial intelligence. And we may see the results at the WWDC 2027, where Apple may introduce new features with iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and MacOS.
