Apple is all set to open its first retail store in Noida on December 11 at DLF Mall of India. This will be Apple’s fifth official store in India and the second in the Delhi-NCR region, following the launch of the Saket outlet earlier this year. With this new opening, Apple continues to strengthen its physical presence in the country. According to sublease documents accessed by CRE Matrix and reported by multiple media outlets, Apple has taken a total of 8,240 square feet of space on the mall’s ground floor. The area is made up of six connected units that will together form the new store.

The lease agreement for the Noida store reportedly runs for 11 years. A notable detail is that Apple will not have to pay any rent during the first year of the lease. Starting from the second year, the rent will be charged at a rate of Rs 263.15 per square foot. This means that Apple will pay around Rs 45.3 lakh per month, which is roughly Rs 5.4 crore annually.

Over the full 11-year period, Apple is expected to spend nearly Rs 65 crore on rent, not counting potential increases. The agreement also reportedly includes a 15 percent rent hike every three years.
