Every year, Apple adds a ton of new devices in their portfolio, which includes phones, laptops, tablets and various other devices. While their busiest month is usually September, as that is when we get to see the next generation of iPhones, it looks like the start of this new year will remain busy for the company as well. As per the latest reports, Apple is reportedly planning to launch a bunch of new products, which include a refresh of the iPhone ‘e’ series with the iPhone 17e, new iPads and Macs too. Without wasting much time, let’s take a look at what we know so far.

Apple iPhone 17e: What can be new

First up, talking about the budget iPhone device, the iPhone 17e is set to get some new and exciting changes. As per Bloomberg, it is getting a big upgrade in terms of the SoC, as it will feature the same A19 chip as the latest base iPhone 17.

A big complaint of users with the iPhone 16e was that there was no support for MagSafe charging. While the device could be charged using regular wireless charging solutions, no support for MagSafe was a big bummer for many. Thankfully, Apple has listened to the users, and it looks like they’ll be adding support for MagSafe charging in iPhone 17e.

In terms of pricing, the Bloomberg report says that it will remain the same as the current iPhone 16e. This means that the device is likely to sell for Rs 59,990 in the Indian market. The report affirms, ‘I can confirm. I’ve also been told that the company is planning to keep pricing the same, at $599, setting up a simple advertising pitch: You’ll get more features for the same cost.’

New iPad Mini and base iPad?

Speaking of the updated iPads, they are also going to be launched very soon. Reports suggest that Apple is working on refreshing the base iPad, along with the iPad Mini. While no leaks suggest that there could be a design refresh this time, the main change is said to come in the form of internal upgrades.

The very popular base iPad is set to get last year’s A18 chip from the iPhone 16, which will be a big improvement from the A14 Bionic of the current iPad. Along with that, it is also being suggested that the device could come with 8GB of RAM, which will be an improvement over the 6GB of RAM on the last-gen base iPad. The updated RAM configuration is likely being made to add support for Apple Intelligence, which has been missing from the basic iPads.

While we don’t yet have any news regarding the upgrades that would be brought out to the iPad Mini lineup, one thing that is confirmed is that the iPad Mini would be getting a big display upgrade. It comes in the form of an OLED display, which has been seen on the iPad Pros before, and it will bring better contrast and colours compared to current models.

The MacBook lineup is getting more powerful and cheaper

Last but not least, the Mac line-up is also set to get a refresh. Speaking of the MacBook lineup, reports suggest that the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro will be refreshed this year. Along with that, even the thin and light MacBook Air could be updated with the upcoming M5 processor.

Interestingly, it is also being suggested that a cheaper MacBook is also in the works. This low-cost Mac has been in the news for some time now, and so far, we know that the device is going to feature a 13-inch screen like the base MacBook Air, and it will likely be powered by a lower-powered iPhone A-series chip, rather than the M-series silicon chips.

While there are no details regarding the pricing so far, the report states that this low-cost MacBook may finally be a reality this year.
