AI has been attracting billionaire entrepreneurs for a while now, and the most recent addition to that list is Mark Cuban. The entrepreneur recently posted on his official X account where he explored a new way to use AI chatbots in healthcare. He believes tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok could help doctors and patients stay connected between appointments. In the post Cuban said that if he ran a private medical practice, he would help patients set up these AI tools with instructions based on their treatment plans. Patients could then use simple daily prompts to share updates and keep track of important information. The goal is not to replace doctors or their decisions. Instead, Cuban sees AI as a communication bridge that could help doctors better understand what happens between patient visits.
In a post on X, Cuban said that if he ran a private medical practice, he would offer to configure Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Grok for patients. He suggested that these systems could be given instructions and prompts that patients can use while also sharing relevant information with their doctors.
If I was a doctor with a private practice, I would offer to sit with the patient and configure their Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Grok with instructions and skills, along with a series of prompts/tasks that the patient can use and that can be shared with the doctor and inform the…

Cuban’s proposal starts with a doctor sitting down with the patient and helping configure the AI tool of their choice. The doctor could provide specific instructions, capabilities and recurring tasks based on the patient’s treatment plan. He added that the goal is to make the technology useful beyond the short time a patient spends in the examination room.

Cuban also described how a simple automated routine could work. An AI assistant could be instructed to ask a patient a set of health questions every evening at 5 pm and show the patient its response before sending the full exchange to the doctor.
The same setup could also help manage questions coming from the doctor’s side. Cuban suggested that the AI could check each morning for new emails from the doctor, particularly messages carrying the subject line ‘Questions’, and then relay those questions to the patient, repeating the cycle daily.

Such a system could give doctors a clearer view of what happens between appointments. Instead of relying only on a patient’s memory during the next visit, doctors could receive regular updates about symptoms, concerns and responses to treatment.
