It will soon be 25 years since Microsoft entered the console gaming space with the original Xbox. Since then, we have seen multiple generations of consoles, iconic franchises like Halo and Fable, and of course, the arrival of Game Pass. Now, Xbox is turning 25 on November 15 and Microsoft has already kicked off the celebrations. And there is something in it for players too. The company is giving away a special anniversary badge along with gamerpics, backgrounds and themes. There are also special Game Pass collections and FanFest events planned across the globe. So without further ado, here is everything Xbox has announced for its 25th anniversary.

One of the easiest anniversary goodies to grab is the new Xbox 25th Anniversary profile badge. You simply need to sign in to your Xbox account on a console, PC or the Xbox mobile app to receive it.
Once received, the badge can be displayed on your Xbox profile. There is no need to rush either, as Microsoft says it will remain available until the end of 2026.
“Beginning today, players who sign in to their XBOX account on console, PC, or the XBOX mobile app will receive the XBOX 25th Anniversary profile badge,” Microsoft said in an announcement.
The badge isn’t the only freebie being offered. Xbox has also released anniversary-themed gamerpics, backgrounds and dynamic themes for Xbox consoles and the Xbox app on PC.
Game Pass subscribers are getting something as well. Microsoft has put together special collections featuring games from different generations of Xbox. These include titles such as Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Fable and Psychonauts 2.
The anniversary celebrations aren’t staying limited to your console. Microsoft is taking Xbox FanFest to multiple cities around the world as part of its 25th anniversary.
The tour kicked off at Gamescom in Cologne on August 26 and will continue with an event during the Tokyo Game Show on September 17. London will follow on September 26, while Mexico City and Sydney will host FanFest events on October 17.
Toronto is scheduled to get its event on November 6. A Seattle FanFest is also planned, although its final date has not been announced yet.
Microsoft says the idea behind the tour is to bring the Xbox community together and celebrate the games, players and moments that have shaped the platform over the last 25 years.
