Since the studio will remain open and operational.
Many social media accounts claimed it could be affected due to the incident, but Rockstar has seemingly denied all these statements. The spokesperson said, ‘Many thanks to those that reached out with concern, and also to the police and fire crews who were on scene quickly to assess the situation – please know that everyone is well and our studio remains open and operational.’
As for the fire incident that took place, we have finally got more details about it, too. Rockstar has confirmed that there was something wrong in the boiler room, present inside the building. A fire and rescue service team was alerted at around 5 AM local time. They then dispatched multiple fire specialists on site for several hours. Thankfully, Rockstar Games has confirmed that there were no reported casualties, and that’s likely due to the timing of the incident.
It was a shock to the entire gaming industry, though, as the Rockstar North office, situated in Edinburgh, has been the core studio that works on the Grand Theft Auto franchise. Every mainline entry of the series was developed there, along with the very popular Red Dead Redemption series as well.
