Spook-A-Boo: Gameplay features

Spook-A-Boo is a top-down, level-based co-op game where you can alternate between suspense and chaos as you are required to find and catch hidden ghosts using your arsenal of ghost-hunting gadgets. The game has two modes, which allow you to either play casually or race to get the best score to obtain rewards and unlock various secrets.

The game has around 28 different levels spread across 4 unique worlds, which include the 80s Earth, Ancient India, Steam City, and Sci-Fi. With those levels, players also get a chance to encounter boss ghosts and find their weaknesses to defeat and capture them. The game also features a bunch of physics-based puzzles.

The game supports both local co-op and online multiplayer for up to four players, and even the gameplay and exploration are based on a similar way. It features diverse levels and the optimisation of strategies; there is something for every kind of player.

Spook-A-Boo: Platforms

As for the platforms the game would be available on, the developers have confirmed that the game will be available on various platforms, including PC and consoles. The Steam page for PC has already been made live, where players can wishlist the game too.

Along with that, the game would also be released on Sony’s PlayStation 5, Microsoft’s Xbox Series X|S consoles, and the Nintendo Switch, too.

When does the game come out?

Speaking of the release date, the developers haven’t announced the exact release date yet. But they have announced that the game is coming out later this year. For now, there is a special Steam Spring Fest demo that is available to try out starting tomorrow.

Speaking about the game’s reveal, Megha Gupta, Game Producer and Co-Founder, Wala Interactive, said, “Spook-A-Boo isn’t just about catching ghosts, it’s a love letter to the era of gaming when multiplayer meant plugging in a second controller (or three!) and crowding around the TV,”

Furthermore, she added, “This demo is closer to our final vision and a slice of what you can expect before the full game ships later in the year. We hope you have as much fun playing it as we had making it.”
