Ever since the arrival of the Sony PlayStation 5 Pro (PS5 Pro) in the global markets, the console has been under a lot of hype. While the global audience has been enjoying the upgraded power of the Pro console, unfortunately, there still hasn’t been any news regarding the launch of the console here in India. Months have passed by, and while there have been a ton of speculations regarding the delay, we finally have some news. Just recently, many users over on X spotted that the PS5 Pro has been listed on the BIS database. Here’s everything you need to know about the Sony PS5 Pro, including the console’s speculated launch timeline in India.

First reported by High Chaos Run, the X user Arjun Campbell tweeted out, suggesting that the PlayStation 5 Pro has been registered in the BIS databases. Furthermore, he added that the console was added with the model number ‘CFI-7121’ in the database.
To confirm this discovery, we went to the BIS database website and entered the R-number mentioned in the screenshot shared by the user. The model number CFI-7121 popped up along with the date of March 9, 2026, confirming that the news is indeed true.
Now that we know that the console has been listed on BIS databases, a major question that comes up is how long it could take for the console to arrive on the Indian shores. Well, we would still have to wait for official word from Sony, as unfortunately, they are yet to announce any release dates for the PS5 Pro in the country. But now with the BIS certification, there could be an update from the company soon.
Last but not least, talking about the Indian pricing that is expected for the console, there are a few speculations from experts. Given that the console currently retails for Rs 70,000 to Rs 80,000 in the grey markets, many expect the console to be sold for around Rs 75,000.
What’s important to note here is that, unlike the regular PlayStation 5 disc edition, the PS5 Pro does not come with a disc drive by default. To play disc-based games on the PS5 Pro, users would have to buy the disc drive, which is sold separately.
