Resident Evil Requiem, the 9th main game in the series, was one of the most-awaited titles this year. It launched on February 27 and is still being discussed among fans. One of the things that everyone seemed to agree upon was how the story’s length felt too short. If you play the main story without aiming for 100% completion, you can finish the game in roughly 11 hours. And if you too feel that the game is too short, there’s some good news.
The Resident Evil Requiem team has just confirmed that a story expansion is in the works. The message comes straight from the director, Koshi Nakanishi.

Koshi Nakanishi, in a video message shared on Resident Evil and Capcom’s official social media handles, talked about the development.
In the message, Nakanishi revealed that the development team is already working on additional story content that will explore the world of Requiem in greater detail. While the expansion has been confirmed, Capcom did not reveal a release date yet. According to the director, the DLC will take some time before it is ready. He also asked fans to be patient.
In addition to this, Nakanishi mentioned that the team plans to add a few extra features to the game in the coming months. One of these is a photo mode, which has been requested by many players since launch.Capcom will also introduce a mini game for Resident Evil Requiem, which wi arrive in May.
In his message, Nakanishi also thanked players for the overwhelming response to Resident Evil Requiem. He said the development team is grateful for the support and plans to keep improving the game through updates.
Resident Evil Requiem delves deep in the story of Grace Ashcroft, daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft who first appeared in Resident Evil Outbreak games. Alyssa was a journalist who was murdered at Wrenwood Hotel. In Requiem, Grace, a member of the FBI, is sent to the same hotel to solve a mystery. The game also features Leon S Kennedy as a playable character. His sequences are all about the action and less about the horror.
The game comes with a gripping storyline, interesting characters, and graphics that you won’t stop marveling at. Nvidia’s DLSS 4 and path tracing capabilities result in a world that looks hauntingly beautiful.
Resident Evil Requiem has sold millions of copies worldwide and became a success (as expected) shortly after its launch. The game launched on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and Series X, and Nintendo Switch 2. With a story expansion now confirmed and more updates planned, it looks like Capcom intends to keep building on the momentum that Resident Evil Requiem has generated since release.
