The original L.A. Noire has been one of the fan-favourite games, and it’s certain to say that it has formed a cult-like following among fans. Unlike traditional Rockstar open-world GTA games, where you played as a criminal rising through the ranks in the underworld, LA Noire was much different, and that’s what made it special. Over the past few years, fans have been requesting a sequel to the game, but we haven’t got anything so far. Well, aside from the remaster, but that’s the same game in a slightly upgraded package. But all that might be changing, if Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick’s recent comments are anything to go by. Let’s take a look at what he said.

Over at the iicon event today, Strauss Zelnick, Take-Two CEO, was being interviewed, and someone directly asked whether or not they’re considering doing something with their LA Noire IP. It’s a fair question, given that the original game was released all the way back in 2011, and so far we’ve only gotten a remaster and the VR game after that.
Speaking about the sequel, Zelnick suggests that they’re looking to expand a lot of their IPs in the future, most likely once they’ve shipped GTA 6. He said, “Broadly, we’re looking at doing something in the future with all of our intellectual property,” he said. Specifically on LA Noire 2, though, he said, “There’s nothing to announce on L.A. Noire specifically, and if there were, it would be Rockstar announcing it, not me.”
Though talking further about the other IPs, Zelnick said, “In any case, with regard to our legacy IP, the teams are always looking at what we have and we’re always thinking about it. The question is, at any given time, do we have a team that’s passionate about working on that?”
What’s worth noting here is that currently it’s not clear whether Zelnick means remasters, remakes, or full-fledged sequels. Safe to say it’ll be interesting to see whether or not Rockstar actually ends up reviving fan-favourite IPs once they’re done with GTA 6.
